The Brave Search plugin turns Brave searches into structured JSON. Brave answers from its own index, so its rankings are a separate view of the web. It has two endpoints:
  • Web search (/search/brave) - a keyword to the results page: about 20 organic results per page with position, title, URL, displayed URL, domain and description, Brave’s ads in top and bottom lists, and related searches. The response has the same shape as Google results from /serpApi.
  • Image search (/images/brave-search) - a keyword to Brave’s whole image result set (about 200 images) in one call: the original image URL on the publisher’s site, the source domain and page, title, site name, thumbnail and pixel dimensions. The response has the same shape as the Google Images plugin.
Brave picks the result region from where the searcher is, not from a URL parameter, so proxy_country sets it through the country the search is sent from. No Brave Search API key is involved.
Try it in the dashboard first: app.scrapeunblocker.com/dashboard/plugins. You get a live results view plus a copy-paste snippet.
Each results page fetched is billed as one request: pages_to_check=3 that returns three pages counts as 3 requests, and pagesChecked shows the exact number.

Response

Brave returns its whole result set on one page, so every call is billed as one request, whatever max_results you set.

Response

Unlike the Google, Bing and Yahoo image plugins, Brave results carry no engine viewer link.

What you can build

  • Independent-index rank tracking - follow where your pages rank on Brave’s own index next to Google and Bing.
  • Ad intelligence - see which advertisers run Brave Search Ads on your keywords.
  • Keyword research - collect related searches for content planning.
  • Image datasets and monitoring - pull about 200 images per query with their source pages in one call.
